Q2 2020 saw a record level of engagement to web content on Facebook, with more than 16 billion engagements in the quarter. This comfortably broke the previous record of 14 billion that we saw in Q1 of this year.
This was partially driven by the massive public interest in coronavirus and the Black Lives Matter protests that erupted nationwide in the United States. Together, these combined to drive more than 5 billion interactions with web coverage that covered one or the other of the topics.
